I am a consultant opthalmic surgeon at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff and the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend with a subspeciality interest in anterior segment diseases.
After graduating from the University of Manchester Medical School, my general opthalmology training was completed in London and Birmingham. I went on to do specialist training in cornea and anterior segment surgery and glaucoma. I was then awarded the ERTN Fellowship and spent a period of six months at the University of Crete, Greece, where I trained in refractive surgery under the tutelage of Professor I Pallikaris, widely regarded as the father of LASIK surgery.
I have numerous publications to my name, and have presented over 50 research papers at national and international conferences. My research interests include new technology intra-ocular lenses and lamellar corneal graft surgery. I am a member of the UK and Ireland, European and American Societies of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
