In the field of otology I am involved with cochlear implants, bone anchored hearing aids and middle ear surgery for chronic infection and deafness. I spent a years research at the nasal research centre, Cardiff, and continue to have an interest in rhinology, including structural (cosmetic) as well as functional nasal surgery. I run a regular voice clinic and am a member of the British Voice Association.

Originally from North Wales, I moved to South Wales in the late 1970's to study medicine. I am a fluent welsh speaker. I enjoy music, especially Jazz piano, and try to play golf (last year I won the 'Celtic Cup' at the Royal Society of Medicine). I am married with three delightful children.
