I grew up in Neath, qualified from Cardiff’s University of Wales College of Medicine in 1997 and completed my basic surgical training in South Wales. My higher surgical training was in the Midlands with my sub speciality training at the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire renowned orthopaedic department. In 2009-10 I furthered this speciality training with a year long Shoulder and Upper Limb Surgery Fellowship in Adelaide, Australia. It was always my intention to be a Consultant in South Wales.
