Specialises in
I qualified as a Dietitian with distinction in 2001 from King’s College London and am registered with and regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council. I started my career at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals and in 2003 commenced my paediatric training at the Evelina Hospital. I moved to Great Ormond Street Hospital in 2004 as a specialist paediatric dietitian. In 2008 I became the Paediatric Dietetic Manager at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff and worked as the lead dietitian for inborn errors of metabolism as well as one of two renal specialists. Following the birth of my second child I made the decision to leave my senior NHS appointment in 2013 and start my own business as a freelance dietitian. I see babies and children with a range of conditions such as allergy, bowel problems and faddy eating as well as children and adults with eating disorders.
I run clinics accepting self referrals and referrals from GP’s, Consultants and Health Visitors. In addition to my clinical role I am a regular guest speaker and ‘expert’ dietitian for multinational nutrition companies, tutor for the Advanced Coaching Academy and a visiting lecturer at Cardiff Metropolitan University. I write for national websites and magazines and have a modest media portfolio. I have led several hypoallergenic cookery workshops for health care professionals and am the author of two hypoallergenic cookbooks primarily for children with cow’s milk allergy. I have first hand experience of managing a child with a cow’s milk allergy following the birth of my third child in 2014. I see many children and adults with eating disorders and work closely with Community and Mental Health Services and GP’s. I hold positions at the Rutherford Cancer Centre in Newport, and Innermost Wellbeing in Cardiff Gate.
I am a committee member of the Specialist Paediatric Group of the British Dietetic Association and a registered dietitian with beateatingdisorders.org.uk.
