Professional profile

I qualified from Cambridge and Oxford, and trained in Surgery and Urology in Oxford, Bath, Berne, and as a Senior Registrar on the Yorkshire Urology Training Programme. I spent three years in the Department of Pharmacology in the University of Oxford doing research on the function of the bladder and urethra and how drugs affect them, to gain an MD.

I had specialist training in the management of bladder cancer in Berne and in urology in patients with neurological conditions in Wakefield. At present, my work at Addenbrookes is focused very largely on the management of bladder cancer, with a very busy practice of radical surgery (cystectomy) for bladder cancer. I am a partner in the Cambridge Urology Clinic, together with my Addenbrookes colleagues, Alexandra Colquhoun, Vincent Gnanapragasam, Sami Hayek and Nikesh Thiruchelvam, based at the Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital.
