Some of the principal treatments carried out by Dr Prem Rangi at Spire include:
Neuroradiology - MRI/CT - brain, spine, skull base and paranasal sinuses, CT guided procedures - nerve root-ganglia block
Facet joint injection, cyst aspiration - rupture, fluoroscopic guided procedures - lumbar puncture, epidural injections, endovascular treatments - intracranial aneurysms, cranial and spinal arteriovenous malformation and fistulae.
I have been a Consultant Neuroradiologist for eight years, with expertise in diagnostic and interventional subspecialties. My diagnostic experience encompasses craniospinal tumour work, inflammatory infection pathologies, degenerative spinal conditions, advanced stroke and vascular diagnostic expertise. My interventional expertise includes, craniospinal catheter angiography, endovascular treatment of cranial and spinal aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and fistulae. I also perform minimally invasive procedures under CT - fluoroscopic guidance, including nerve root - ganglia block, facet joint injections, lumbar puncture and epidural injections.
I specialise in endovascular treatment of cranial aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, craniospinal tumour diagnostics, including CT guided biopsies, and minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic treatments for pain.
I have performed over 1,500 cerebral angiograms, over 500 endovascular treatments, with specific expertise in balloon remodelling and use of liquid embolic agents for arteriovenous malformation treatments. I compliment my endovascular practice with gamma knife treatment planning expertise and work closely with my neurosurgeons with neurovascular expertise.
In addition to my clinical work I teach on a neuroradiology MSC course and training fellows at Queens Square, The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
