Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Colin Bevan at Spire include:
Gynaecology and/or Obstetrics:
My main area of expertise is in benign gynaecology and I am Lead for Laparoscopic gynaecological surgery at Weston General Hospital.
I am also Lead for the Gynaecological Cancer Unit at Weston. I use evidence-based treatments and offer modern, cost effective and comprehensive personalised care for all of my patients.
When surgery is required I undertake most cases using minimal access (keyhole) techniques ie laparoscopy and/or hysteroscopy.
Minimal access surgery is associated with reduced complications, less post-operative discomfort, shortened hospital stay and a quicker return to normal activities for the majority of women. In particular, if hysterectomy is required when other methods have not been effective for heavy periods/fibroids I undertake laparoscopic/vaginal hysterectomy in 85% of cases.
Gynaecology and/or obstetrics
Special Clinical Interests: Abnormal vaginal bleeding, Fibroids, Pelvic pain, Ovarian cysts.
