Professional profile

I have been a consultant cardiologist at the Bristol Heart Institute and Weston General Hospital since February 2015. I am happy to see patients with any general cardiology complaints and have a specialist interest in managing patients with suspected coronary artery disease. My NHS interventional practices focuses on the percutaneous treatment of symptomatic significant coronary disease with balloon angioplasty and stenting.

I specialise in general cardiology with a sub-speciality expertise in management of patients with suspected coronary artery disease including diagnosis, treatment and follow-up.I offer percutaneous diagnosis and treatment options for patients with significant coronary artery disease including balloon angioplasty and stunting. In particular I have a specialist expertise in treating complex coronary anatomy such as chronic total occlusions.

To date I have performed over 3,000 coronary angioplasty and stenting procedures. Last year I completed 578 cases (national average is approximately 120 cases).

I am highly experienced and am one of the highest volume operators in the country.I studied Medicine at St Bartholomew's and The Royal London Medical School and undertook general medical training on the Kings College London medical rotation. I trained in General Cardiology at St Thomas' Hospital, UCLH, The London Chest and The Essex Cardiac Centre. Interventional cardiology training was completed at The Essex Cardiothoracic Centre and Wytenshawe Hospital, Manchester.

In addition to my clinical commitments I am a member of the Royal College MRCP Question Writing Group.
