When my appointment arrived, I rushed to Yale at the double.
On arrival the receptionist quickly checked me in
Stating that precisely at 12.30pm, the operation would begin,
I was a nervous wreck, shaking all over, especially my knees.
The operating team arrived and swiftly put me at ease.
Explained the procedure, telling me what to expect.
Always treating me with the utmost respect.
The operation was carried out, there were no hitches.
I finished up with bandages and some stitches.
Over the years, I’ve visited Yale many a time.
I salute you all, in my rhyme.
And just before I left, and said my goodbyes
Leaving me wiping tears from my eyes."
