Being confronted with my first major operation at 53 years old was somewhat daunting, especially as I am someone who has always found hospitals an environment I’d rather not be in. So when I pressed the button to get a hip replacement I was quite anxious about the prospect of it. However the moment I walked into The Spire at Harpenden my fears gradually ebbed away. This in no small part was due to the efficiency and humanity shown by all who work there. It was quite clear that everyone enjoys their job and the culture that prevails at The Spire where it appears to be customer focused creates the best experience possible for the patient. I can’t speak highly enough of all who work there at all levels- Cleaner’s, nurses, specialists, caterers and Doctors etc. All seem to have the patients interest and well-being as their priority.
