Spire Elland Hospital is delighted to announce that it’s £2.7 million investment theatre has opened ahead of schedule, and welcomed its first patients on Monday 29 June 2015.
Officially opened by one of the hospital’s longest serving consultants, Mr Vijay Modgill, the hospital’s third theatre will benefit more than 2,000 self-paying, medically insured and NHS patients from the local area in its first 12 months. This increased operating capacity means patients will be treated sooner and with more flexibility than ever before.
The theatre will be used by consultants across all specialities however, as it features state of the art laminar flow technology, this will be most beneficial for those patients requiring orthopaedic surgery.
The new theatre will be complemented by the hospital’s nationally accredited sterile services unit, which places Spire Elland Hospital as the only hospital in the local area where the staff are able to sterilise operating instruments on-site.
Hospital Director Chris Harrison says: “Our investment in the hospital shows our commitment to our patients and the local area. It is imperative to us that our consultants have the best facilities to practice from so they can give patients the best possible treatment.”
