General Thoracic Surgery with special interest in aortic and minimal access surgery
I am a graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland Medical School in 1992. Following completion of my basic surgical training in Ireland I moved to Leicester to complete an MD involving research into ischaemia reperfusion injury of the heart. I then completed my Cardiothoracic Surgical Training in the West Midlands before being appointed as a Consultant in April 2009 at Hull and East Yorkshire Hospital NHS Trust.
I specialise in both cardiac surgery and thoracic surgery with a special interest in aortic surgery and minimally invasive thoracic surgery.
