Some of the principal treatments carried out by Professor David Jayne at Spire include:
I am a senior lecturer in surgery at the University of Leeds and a consultant general surgeon at Leeds General Infirmary.
I have a specialist interest in laparoscopic and minimal access surgery and I am one of the few surgeons in the UK with experience in surgical robotics for abdominal disorders.
I also have an interest in pelvic floor dysfunction, including the treatment of faecal incontinence and constipation. I have an active research interest in both these areas of surgical practice, which has led to the publication of many original research papers and two books.
I sit on the Research and Audit Committee of the Association of Coloproctology of GB, and I am Clinical Editor of the International Journal of Medical Robotics and Computer Assisted Surgery.
I believe in using the knowledge I have gained from clinical research to benefit the patients I treat and take pleasure in being able to offer my patients the latest and most effective treatments for their problems.
