I have been a consultant ophthalmologist for over four years with subspecialist interests of glaucoma management and cataract surgery. I lead the glaucoma service in Warrington Hospital and perform numerous different glaucoma operations that suits the severity of the disease including microinvasive glaucoma surgery. I have wide experience of treating various eye diseases with special interest in medical and surgical glaucoma management and cataract surgery.
To date I have performed over 2,600 cataract surgeries and more than 600 glaucoma operations as well as over a thousand intravitreal injections for retinal conditions. I carried out close to 100 revision surgeries following previous cataract and glaucoma procedures including secondary lens implantation. I offer laser treatment for glaucoma and post-operative cataract patients weekly in my NHS practice.
I attained my medical degree and ophthalmic training in Hungary. Moving to the United Kingdom I received further training including two fellowships in medical retina at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital 2011 and Glaucoma at Queens' medical centre in Nottingham 2012. Following the exit exam I became Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists in 2011. I take pride in my work as a medical doctor and make every effort to continuously improve my knowledge and skills.
I was the audit and governance lead in Warrington for almost two years. Now I am responsible for conducting clinical research in the department.
I lead the teaching of medical students in the ophthalmic department and am an honorary lecturer at the University of Liverpool. As glaucoma lead I am responsible for training, organising and monitoring the multidisciplinary team that cares for glaucoma patients in Warrington Hospital.
I am a faculty member of the Microsurgical Skills Course of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
