Lynette Vale is an experienced counsellor, offering short term and open ended counselling to both individuals and couples. She trained as a Person Centred Counsellor/Therapist at the University of Strathclyde under the professorship of Dave Mearns, and the Person Centred principles of counselling continue to form the foundation for her work with her clients.
A Person Centred therapist is trained to offer their client the core conditions of empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard. This means that when you work together, you will feel truly heard and understood and that you are not being judged. You will feel safe to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviour and to become confident in your value, thereby living a healthier and more fulfilling existence.
Lynette has a MA working with people with eating disorders and a Post Graduate Diploma in Person Centred Counselling. She also supervises other counsellors and is currently working towards an advanced diploma in supervision. She is accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and she adheres to their ethics. She is also on the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
