I have worked at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital since 1989 having qualified in 1986 and have worked at Spire Harpenden for 25 years.

I have previously been a manager for the Bedfordshire Speech and Language Therapy Service alongside my ongoing specialist clinical work in head and neck oncology and voice disorders and since 2008, have been a Clinical Lead and Advanced Practitioner in Head and Neck/ENT.

I have co-authored a book on working with children with voice disorders.

I jointly set up the Specialist Voice Clinic at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital alongside ENT and have since developed an SLT Led Endoscopy Clinic for voice, where we see patients with voice problems referred in directly from their GP.

I have advanced practitioner skills/extended scope in video laryngeal strobscopy, video fluoroscopy and fibre optic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing.

I work closely alongside ENT/OMF colleagues as part of a well established multidisciplinary team and liaise closely with respiratory and gastroenterology colleagues when appropriate.

I provide assessment, diagnosis, advice and treatment interventions for patients with voice and swallowing disorders on referral from an ENT Consultant.

I can help with globus and reflux related problems, as well as chronic cough (referrals must come via either ENT or Respiratory Consultants for any patients with a persistent cough).

I am also happy to see patients with voice, speech and swallowing problems following head and neck oncology treatment in close liaison with all members of the MDT.
