Mr Yih-Horng Tham
I graduated from Liverpool University Medical School with honours and am an award-winning Consultant Ophthalmologist with specialist interests in Glaucoma, Cataract surgery, Ophthalmic Digital Systems, and Service Development.
I have trained in several world-renowned eye units including St Thomas' Hospital, Kings College Hospital, Sussex Eye Hospital, the National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery at Queen Square, and Moorfields Eye Hospital, City Road.
My final training tenure was as Senior Clinical Fellow in Glaucoma at the internationally acclaimed Moorfields Eye Hospital. There I learned cutting-edge surgical techniques from some of the World's best ophthalmic surgeons as well as gaining exposure to the mechanics of some of the world's foremost healthcare models. A relationship I continue to foster to this day.
I am the Lead for Glaucoma for the East Sussex Hospital Trust as well as the Lead for Ophthalmic Informatics. In combining these roles I have driven innovation in the Glaucoma Service by introducing new laser services, the creation of an innovative diagnostic hub, and launched East Sussex's first-ever Virtual Glaucoma Service.
