Mr Kamath works as a full time Consultant at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. His practice includes full range of problems in Hand & Wrist, Shoulder and Elbow. He graduated from Osmania University, India in 1990 and underwent post graduate training in Orthopaedics at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India.
He was awarded the Gold Medal as best outgoing resident and gained the Masters degree in Orthopaedics from Manipal University. After Completing his Masters in Orthopaedics from Teeside University he was also awarded MCh (Orth) from Liverpool University. After completing his MRCS from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2003, he did his specialist Registrar training from the Northern Deanery and was awarded his Intercollegiate Board Examination in Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery in 2008.
He developed an interest in upper limb surgery whilst working at Wrightington Hospital and completed a Royal College Fellowship in Upper limb Surgery. As a travelling fellow he trained at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester USA. He is an ATLS instructor and has responsibility for teaching undergraduate medical students. He lectures regularly on courses and is actively involved in teaching and training surgeons. He has brought a new approach to the Fylde Coast by having one stop clinics for management of hand conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome.
