Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Velin Voynov at Spire include:
I also perform Axillary Node Clearance, Therapeutic Mammoplasty, Lipomodelling for correction of deformity related to breast cancer treatment, Risk Reducing Mastectomy and Reconstruction.
I am a Consultant Breast Oncoplastic Surgeon with eight years experience in specialised breast oncoplastic units in England. My training in breast surgery includes advanced Oncoplastic Fellowships in the University Hospital of North Midlands and in The Royal Marsden Hospital (a renowned national and international centre of excellence). I hold a MS in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery degree obtained at the University of East Anglia which augmented my skills and knowledge.
I specialise in rapid assessment and treatment of symptomatic and screen detected carcinoma of the breast, as well as all benign breast conditions. I am passionate about restoration of the breast after cancer treatment and offer various oncoplastic and reconstructive options. I use reshaping, reduction and uplift techniques to improve symmetry if the opposite normal breast needs adjustment. I also provide other procedures like fat transfer/lipomodelling to treat deformity after breast cancer surgery. I take interest in the assessment and management of women with high risk family history or gene mutation carriers (eg BRCA gene) who are at high risk for development of breast cancer.
I take pride in having very low postoperative complication rates and lower than the national average breast cancer re-excision rate (the need for a second operation to clear margins). I am highly respected by my peers and colleagues, and enjoy a great deal of thankfulness from my patients.
I abide by guidelines and local policies, and have great enthusiasm for continued professional development. I have published in peer reviewed journals and have a number of oral and poster presentations. I am sensitive and understanding when communicating with patients or colleagues and able to establish a close rapport. I also speak good German and Russian.
