I am a consultant ophthalmic surgeon with a special interest in vitreoretinal surgery. I trained in Manchester, Sheffield and Birmingham before being appointed as a consultant in 1990. I have worked in Leeds ever since and was, for 10 years, director of special surgical services and ophthalmology at St James University Hospital.
I provide general ophthalmic services but have a special interest in the surgical treatment of retinal diseases and have pioneered the treatment of age related macular degeneration using anti-VEGF drugs at Spire Leeds Hospital.
I also undertake general ophthalmic surgical treatments such as cataract and the management of glaucoma and undertake laser treatment for a variety of retinal diseases.

I am a Yorkshireman by birth and have lived and worked in the Leeds area since 1990 with my wife and four children. When I have time I am a keen walker, swimmer and cyclist, and with my family I've greatly enjoyed exploring the delights of the Yorkshire countryside over the years.Back to top
