I am a Consultant Ophthalmologist with a specialist interest in cornea, refractive surgery at the Tennent Institute of Ophthalmology, Gartnavel General Hospital, for the Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS Trust since 2005.
I provide tertiary corneal refractive surgery expertise for routine and complex corneal problems. I have performed over a 1,000 laser refractive procedures and over 10,000 lens procedures (cataract and RLE).
My Higher Specialist Training (HST) was in Birmingham. I have had the opportunity to do two renowned fellowships in anterior segment in Birmingham and Nottingham. During my training, I developed a special interest in lamellar keratoplasty and corneal refractive surgery.
I am one of the invited faculty for national and international conference for cornea, cataract and refractive surgery and a key opinion leader in my field.
I am an examiner for Fellowship exam for ophthalmologists (Glasgow) and have published over 20 peer reviewed articles. I am an honorary Lecturer for Glasgow Caledonian University.
I am involved with teaching optometrists and ophthalmologists in training and am a college tutor and educational supervisor. I am one of the appointed appraisers for Greater Glasgow and Clyde.
