Mr Close performs a full range of Orthopaedic procedures, including primary and revision knee replacement, knee arthroscopy (including ligament reconstruction), hip replacement and general foot surgery.
Mr Close attended the University of Cape Town, graduating in 1978. Following National Service as a doctor he returned to Cape Town to train as an Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Groote Schuur and Red Cross Children’s Hospitals. After completing his training in 1989 he did a Fellowship in Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery in Belfast. After a period in private practice in South Africa he returned to the UK as a Consultant in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital in 2000.
