I am a graduate of Imperial College School of Medicine, London. I completed my specialist training in trauma and orthopaedic surgery within the West Midlands Deanery. Here I developed a specialist interest in arthroscopy, knee surgery and sports injuries. In 2008 I became a full member of the UK Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine. I was elected to the Fellowship in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery - FRCS (Tr&Orth) by the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2009.
I have completed advanced clinical fellowships in both sports medicine and reconstructive knee surgery at the prestigious Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto, Canada. These fellowships were recognised by the University of Toronto and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. During the fellowships I also gained valuable experience treating elite athletes from the NBA basketball league. I was involved with the London 2012 Olympic Games as a sports medicine doctor for Olympic basketball.
I maintain an active involvement in the teaching of trainee surgeons. I am the Training Programme Director for core orthopaedic surgical training in the West Midlands. I am also Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham. I have published papers in multiple scientific journals and regularly presents at national and international meetings.
I have practised at Little Aston Hospital since 2011, and more recently at Parkway Hospital, Solihull. As a founder member of the Midland Knee Clinic, I specialise in all aspects of knee surgery.
Special Clinical Interests: Total knee replacement (including customised replacements), partial (unicompartmental) knee replacement, treatment of arthritis in the younger patient including non-surgical options, knee osteotomy – realignment surgery, keyhole surgery of the knee (arthroscopy), knee meniscal repair, knee ligament reconstruction following sports injury including ACL, articular cartilage repair, anterior knee pain and kneecap problems, non-surgical and operative treatment of sports injuries.
