Mr Ratcliffe has lived locally since 1962. He trained at St Thomas's Hospital, London and qualified in 1981. Most of Mr Ratcliffe's orthopaedic training was in Birmingham with hand surgeon Mr P.J. Mulligan. Mr Ratcliffe was appointed to Worcester as a hand surgeon in 1995. He has developed the hand service in Worcester since.
His research interests include Dupytrens, wrist pathology and local anaesthesia in carpel tunnel release.
