I am the lead clinician for several hospitals in the Berkshire and London areas. I have years of experience at consultant level following my extensive training in the field of Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Surgery. I qualified in Dentistry in 1992, following which I also undertook a period of focused research and was awarded a Masters Degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (MDS). I also have a Medical (MBBS) degree from King's Collage, London which makes me unique like a limited number of other colleagues nationally who are both Dentally and Medically qualified.

Having trained in general surgery and general medicine, ear, nose and throat surgery and neurosurgery, I then started my specialty training in oral and maxillofacial surgery for another five years, working in some of London’s leading hospitals including Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, Eastman Dental Hospital, St Bartholomew’s Hospital, The Royal London Hospital and Northwest London Hospitals. Having completed my higher surgical training I passed the Intercollegiate FRCS in oral and maxillofacial surgery and was subsequently awarded the certificate of completion of specialist training.

I am registered as a specialist Oral Surgeon on the GDC (General Dental Council) specialist register, I am also registered as a specialist Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon on the GMC (General Medical Council) specialist register. I have a special interest in Orthognathic Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Trauma, Oral medicine, cancer of the mouth and skin cancers of the head and neck, Dental Implantology including Bone grafting and Sinus lift, Minor oral surgery including surgical removal of wisdom teeth, under local anesthesia, sedation and general anesthesia. I continue to take an active interest in Medical and Dental education and training. I am Clinical supervisor for the specialty registrars in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, as well as educational supervisor for the dental foundation trainees.

I am on the panel of the examiners for the MFDS part 2 examinations at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, MJDF part 2 examinations at the Royal College of Surgeons of England, panel member for SITE assessment for the core surgical trainees and also on the panel of examiners for Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examination (ISFE) in Oral Surgery. I am the Royal College Of Surgeons BAOMS Specialty advisor for the South Central region; I am a member of council of the Oral and Maxillofacial section of the Royal Society of Medicine and also a member of the BAOMS Clinical Effectiveness Committee (CEC).

I am an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) provider and instructor and I regularly teach doctors and surgeons on the ATLS provider course.
