I am a consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, a position I have held for 14 years. I qualified in Dentistry from Manchester University in 1982 and Medicine from Sheffield in 1997
I have extensive experience in facial trauma including working in war zones and have lectured widely on this.
I perform approximately 80 plus Orthognathic Operations a year placing me as one of the highest performers nationally. I am extremely experienced in dentoalveolar surgery including: wisdom teeth, jaw cysts and complicated root surgery.
I am an examiner in General Surgery to the Royal College of surgeons of Edinburgh and in Oral Surgery to the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
I am the Foundation Programme Director for my local NHS Hospital Trust and the Regional Surgical Advisor to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. I am the Educational Supervisor to a Specialist registrar, Maxillofacial SHOs and Foundation Doctors. I also mentor for the Faculty of Dental Surgery RCS Eng Minor Oral Surgery Diploma I am a Medical Appraiser for Consultant colleagues within my NHS Trust

I have and continue to publish papers in my specialty which can be accessed through Pub Med and have presented at National and International meetings.
I am a chapter author in Operative Maxillofacial Surgery (Ed Langdon. Patel and Brennon) and have also contributed to 'Head and Neck Emergencies' Perry.
I am a keen cyclist and undertake long distance routes through Audax UK.
I am a passionate Bee keeper and a member and committee member of Eastbourne Beekeepers Association.
I also have an interest in Military History and have led battlefield tours and start an MA in Naval History later this year.
