I completed my basic surgical training in Cambridge after qualifying from Dow Medical University, Pakistan. I gained fellowship from Royal colleges of England & Edinburgh and completed higher surgical training in the region with specialist training in Breast surgery. During my stay at Good Hope Hospital, I managed to complete his Masters in Medical Sciences (M Med Sci) from Keele University. I am currently the RCS Surgical Tutor for the trust and also examiner for the Royal College of surgeons of England. I have been in a substantive Consultant Surgeon post at Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS trust with sessions both at Sandwell and City Hospitals, Birmingham. SWBH Breast unit is one of the largest screening units that provide screening mammography and assessment to women in Birmingham including from Sutton Coldfield & Four Oaks area as well. This obviously has enhanced my experience of treating screen detected breast cancer that is quality assured through West Midlands Cancer Intelligence unit (WMCIU). This experience can be vital in treating women at Spires Little Aston.
I am offering Breast surgery services at Spire Little Aston Hospital. My practice involves management of benign and malignant diseases of Breast. Symptomatic and Screen detected cancers are dealt with according to current guidelines and offer full range of breast surgery including sentinel node biopsy and advice on reconstruction. My interests include screening uptake in BME groups, primary hormonal therapy for breast cancer. Part of my practice also involves dealing with general surgical cases including laparoscopic cholecystectomy and surgery for groin and ventral abdominal wall hernias. I was awarded with Excellence in Customer Care award by the trust in 2012.
I am very happy take on referrals for breast and general surgery patients both in NHS and private setting and assures you a good and personalised service. I tend to spend time out of work with his family. I have been a Sutton Coldfield resident for almost 20 years. My daughters are at university and another at the Sutton Coldfield Grammar school for girls. I am interested in local, national and international politics and I write in the local newspaper. I am also part of the interfaith forum in Sutton Coldfield. As clinical tutor at Birmingham Medical School previously and now surgical tutor, I am involved in undergraduate and postgraduate surgical education.
I can also speak fluent Urdu and Punjabi.
