My field of expertise includes general and minimally invasive thoracic surgery involving lungs, mediastinum and chest wall. I specialise in the management of airway diseases, correction of pectus deformities and resection-reconstruction of the chest wall for soft tissue and bony tumours.

I graduated in 1989, and I was appointed Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham in 2006. I am the Clinical Director of the Regional Department of Thoracic Surgery. I also work as a lung transplant surgeon at University Hospital Birmingham.

I am a convener and faculty member for various national and international courses in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
