I am a sub-specialist in Fetal and Maternal medicine and was appointed as Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in 2013.
I graduated and completed post graduate training from Maharashtra Health University, India. I gained wide experience in complex Obstetrics and Gynaecology at a tribal district general hospital in India. In the UK, I joined King’s College Hospital as Research Fellow in Fetal Medicine and worked under guidance of Professor Kypros Nicolaides. After completing CCT in Obstetrics and Gynaecology I further sub specialized in Maternal Fetal Medicine at University of Leicester Hospital, Leicester.
I also provide comprehensive general gynaecological services and perform all minor and most of the major gynaecological procedures. I specialise in Fetal Medicine and hence diagnose and treat unborn babies with complications. My areas of specialisation include recurrent pregnancy loss, previous baby with congenital malformation, growth restriction, medical complications and infections in pregnancy. I also provide pre pregnancy counselling, fetal echocardiography, non-invasive prenatal testing and invasive testing (Chorionic villous sampling, Amniocentesis).
I am the lead consultant for Fetal Medicine, Research and Development in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Director of the Kypros Nicolaides Fetal Medicine centre at Southend Hospital. This is the only Fetal Medicine centre in South Essex and receives referrals from neighbouring hospitals. In addition, I run the only multidisciplinary Maternal Medicine clinic in South Essex.
I have recruited for large research study on preterm labour and have widely published in International journals and articles.
