I have been working and trained in North East for last six years. I have been consultant colorectal and general surgeon since 2019. I perform all general surgical procedures and is an experience keyhole (laparoscopic) surgeon. I enjoy doing gallbladder surgery and do hernia surgery both with open and laparoscopic technique. I have been trained in colorectal surgery mainly in laparoscopic complex procedures which include both cancer and benign surgery. I enjoy doing laparoscopic cancer surgeries.

I have got more than 17 years of experience in surgery, both abroad and in UK. I have performed more than 2,500 surgical procedures, including major and minor cases. I have a very good experience in dealing with anorectal disease, including haemorrhoids, fistulas and fissures. I tailor the surgical management of these conditions according to the patient's symptoms and wishes. I perform banding, HALO and surgical excision of haemorrhoids. I also perform flexible sigmoidoscopies and colonoscopies and also removes polyps if needed. I also deal with state of art TAMIS procedure which is removal of the rectal polyps using laparoscope thus avoiding major complex resectional surgery.

I am also actively involved in many QI projects and enjoy working in a team, improving patient experience. I am leading NELA (emergency laparotomy at UHND) and also lead the Emergency General Surgery and Theatre efficiency group at UHND. I also enjoy teaching and is an Educational Supervisor and Clinical supervisor of junior doctors, SHO and Surgical Trainees and enjoy good reputation with them. I also lead the ACE course of year 4 medical students at UHND.

I am also tutor of Royal of College of Surgeons of England and an ATLS (Advance Trauma Life Support) and BLS (Basic Surgical Skills) Instructor.
