I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with special interest in musculoskeletal trauma and lower limb surgery particularly hip and knee surgery including joint replacement surgery and arthroscopic (keyhole) knee surgery. I have extensive experience in the management of fractures and musculoskeletal trauma.I also treat children with orthopaedic problems.
I obtained M.S in orthopaedic surgery from the renowned Aligarh University in India and MCh Orth from University of Liverpool. I passed the FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics) examination in May 2009 and gained entry to the GMC’s Specialist Register in March 2011.
After completing my training and working as a consultant in India, I came to the UK in 1993. I trained as a registrar in Northwest of England and worked as a senior registrar at the Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot. After having worked for a considerable time at the West Middlesex University Hospital in London, I now work as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at St Marys Hospital, Isle of Wight NHS Trust, Newport.
I am a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a fellow of Royal Society of Medicine. I am also a member of the orthopaedic council of RSM. I have a keen interest in undergraduate and postgraduate training of the next generation of doctors.
Having worked as an orthopaedic surgeon in India, the Middle East and the UK, I am widely experienced and I have a growing practice in providing a second opinion for patients from all over the world.
Besides my clinical and operative orthopaedic practice, I also have an extensive medico-legal practice as an expert in trauma and orthopaedics.
I can communicate fluently in English, Urdu and Hindi and have basic knowledge of Arabic and Persian.
