I am a Consultant Glaucoma and Anterior Segment Surgeon at the prestigious eye unit and eye bank at Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead where I lead the glaucoma unit and run a fellowship programme. My special interests are bespoke and premium cataract surgery, comprehensive glaucoma care and the latest innovations in glaucoma care including laser and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery.
I have performed over 3,000 cataract operations. I routinely operate on complex cataracts including white cataracts, weak zonules and small pupils. I routinely perform premium cataract surgery with multifocal and toric lenses to optimise visual outcomes. I have performed several hundred minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries and my outcomes have been published in leading ophthalmic journals. I have completed over 250 trabeculectomies including redo cases and revisions, as well as performed over 150 tube drainage implants.
I graduated from University College London and completed my ophthalmology training in Oxford. I have completed an MD research degree at The Institute of Ophthalmology, London. I have completed three specialist fellowships in glaucoma and anterior segment surgery at The Oxford Eye Hospital, The Western Eye Hospital in London, and at the University of Toronto, Canada.
I am the founder and director of Innovation Eye Clinic which aims to provide world-class, local, and affordable private health care. I enjoy working closely with motivated, like-minded optometrists to help deliver this exceptional care. This tertiary eye centre manages complex anterior segment cases including high volumes of tube implant, trabeculectomy operations as well as complex joint corneo-glaucoma cases.
My research interests are in innovations in glaucoma and cataract surgery as well as glaucoma patient pathway design and management, for which I have won numerous international awards. My innovative approach to treating glaucoma has been broadcast by the BBC and published in the Mail on Sunday.
