I have been in my current post as a consultant oncoplastic breast surgeon at the breast unit in St James’ Hospital in Leeds since 2015.
Prior to this I completed an oncoplastic fellowship in Leeds focusing on breast reconstruction for cancer patients in the immediate and delayed setting.
I completed my higher surgical training in Yorkshire and Humber Deanery and gained experience in general surgery including upper gastrointestinal, colorectal and vascular surgery. I have also worked in breast oncology units in Bradford and Hull.
I specialise in the various aspect of breast cancer management and work closely with the multidisciplinary team to maximise outcomes for patients with breast cancer.
I offer patients a range of surgical treatments as part of their cancer pathway including breast conserving surgery, mastectomy, breast reconstruction with implant or autologous reconstruction. I perform axillary surgery including sentinel node and axillary node clearance. Following breast cancer treatment I offer patients surveillance and perform symmetrisation procedures.
I have a strong research background having completed a research degree which focused on the role of the immune system in wound healing and cancer recurrence in breast cancer patients. I have published in peer review journals and presented at national and international meetings.
