I have worked in reproductive medicine since 1985. I trained under the guidance of Professor Robert Winston at the Hammersmith Hospital in London before moving to Yorkshire and setting up the Leeds General Infirmary's Reproductive Medicine Unit in 1991.
I am actively involved in reproductive medicine nationally in the British Fertility Society and in further education through the College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. I was a founder member of the British Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy and have promoted the use of minimal access surgery in gynaecology since my appointment at the Leeds General Infirmary as a consultant gynaecologist in 1991.
