Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Andrew Jennings at Spire include:
I did my pre-clinical training in Cambridge before graduating from Newcastle in 1987. I subsequently did my basic surgical training in the northern region before moving to Leeds to do research in anterior cruciate ligament injuries. Having finished my research I then trained in orthopaedics in Yorkshire before returning to the north east as a consultant.
My practice involves mainly lower limb surgery. I have had extensive training in arthroscopic knee surgery in the Leeds area including ligament reconstruction. I have also developed an interest in unicondylar knee replacement. I have experience in the treatment of achilles tendon injuries without any external splints or plasters. I also have significant training in all aspects of trauma surgery.
I am the undergraduate lead for orthopaedics in Durham and also the research lead and they currently have a number of research projects on the go related to infection in joint replacement, sports injuries, joint replacement and trauma. As a result of this I was appointed as an honourary clinical lecturer.
