Professional profile
I am a consultant in both general surgery and breast and oncoplastic surgery, with special interest in breast pain, breast cancer and resection of non palpable lesions as well as keyhole surgery for gallbladder and hernia.
I graduated from University of Mosul, Iraq, in 1996 with first honour. After a general surgical experience and basic surgical training, I spent a year in research at Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, Dundee and subsequently completed an MSc in Surgical Practice, University of Kent, Canterbury.
I maintained my interest in general surgery throughout my training, especially laparoscopic and hernia surgery. With the last two years of my training dedicated to breast surgery. I joined Edinburgh Breast Unit for a year as a registrar, then Dundee Breast Unit for another year before passing the FRCS exam in general surgery and breast surgery.

Personal Profile
I have a great passion about flying. I hold a Private Pilot Licence, and I am a member of the Scottish Aero Club. Flying regularly from Scone Airport, in Perthshire. I enjoy the beautiful sceneries of Scotland. I also design, make and fly radio controlled model airplane and helicopters. I have an interest in saving the Honeybees, have a small apiary and I am a member of the Borders Beekeepers Association. Woodworking has opened whole new opportunities for me to shape and create things, with pieces of furniture slowly emerging from my small workshop.
