I undertook my basic surgical training (BST) in North-East Thames becoming a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1997. In early 1998, I was admitted into the Master in Surgery degree programme of the University of London studying and performing my research at the departments of surgery of the Royal Free and Royal London Hospitals. I was awarded an MS degree in 2004. In April 2000 having been appointed to the South West Thames Specialised Registrar Rotation in general surgery I began my higher surgical training (HST) completing which I completed in July 2006. I passed the third part of the FRCS exam in general surgery with sub-specialist interest in upper GI in 2005. I spent three months doing a fellowship in surgical oncology at the National Cancer Centre in Tokyo, Japan in early 2006. I was appointed to my current post in March 2006 taking up post in October 2006. I'm currently is a member of ASGBI, ALS, AUGIS.
I am a consultant general, upper GI and bariatric surgeon at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. My sub-specialist area of expertise is in the management of benign and malignant diseases of the oesophagus and stomach.
I have published leading articles in national and international peer reviewed journals. I have also presented work from my thesis in numerous national and international meetings.
