Miss Sheila Shokuhi
MBchB, FRCS, MD
I qualified from the University of Liverpool in 1993 and completed my general surgical training in the Mersey and West Midlands. I was trained as an Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon and completed a year fellowship in Birmingham City hospital working with Breast Reconstructive Plastic Surgeons. I also spent a month in the Institut de Sein, Paris as a Breast Reconstructive Fellow.
My special interests include immediate and delayed breast reconstruction as well as therapeutic mammoplasty which combine breast reduction techniques with wide local excision of tumour. This technique reduces the need for mastectomy and improves the cosmetic outcome.
I am also interested in symmetrisation procedures including breast reduction, mastopexy, augmentation and Coleman fat transfer.
I work closely with my plastic surgical colleagues in Leicester to ensure a full range of reconstruction options are available to all suitable patients.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Miss Sheila Shokuhi at Spire include:
Breast care and surgery
Consultant Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon, Head of Service, Breast Care Centre, Glenfield Hospital, UHL.
My husband lives with his 3 daughters, a dog and occasionally his wife!
