I have been a Consultant Oculoplastic, Orbital and Lacrimal Surgeon for over 10 years, with my NHS practice based at Bristol Eye Hospital. I receive complex referrals from the entire South West region, including orbital tumours and complex periocular skin cancer cases.

I specialise in oculoplastic surgery, which is essentially plastic surgery around the eyelid region either for cosmetic or functional and reconstructive purposes. My most common surgical treatments include surgery for lid malposition (ectropion, entropion and ptosis surgery), blepharoplasty (cosmetic eyelid lift), lacrimal surgery including dacryocystorhinostomy for watery eyes, and biopsy of orbital tumours. 

I also have a very active role in treating skin cancers around the eyelid region, including large lesions requiring total eyelid reconstruction. In addition to my oculoplastic surgical experience, I have extensive experience in cataract surgery.

My complex work frequently involves collaboration with other specialists including dermatologists, ENT surgeons, maxillofacial surgeons, oncologists and neurosurgeons. I perform the full range of oculoplastic, orbital and lacrimal surgery and I have a special interest in blepharoplasty surgery (cosmetic eyelid lift), as well as thyroid eye disease.

I jointly lead the Orbital Service and Thyroid Eye Disease service at Bristol Eye Hospital. I am actively involved in teaching undergraduates and postgraduates, and am proud to be an honorary lecturer at the University of Bristol.
