Some of the principal treatments carried out by Dr Suhail Baluch at Spire include:
Oncology: Bowel Cancer, Lung cancer, Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy
I have been actively involved with modern clinical treatments and research of colorectal cancers for 20 years. For the last 10 years I have been working as a consultant in the NHS, bringing in modern treatment methods and upgrading the services provided to patients.
I carried out the first and largest ever UK National Audit of Radical Treatment of lung cancers as part of my clinical interest and research work and have also provided first time evidence of a newer dose of Capcitabine as a radiosensitizer for the treatment of Rectal cancer while down staging with concurrent chemo-radiotherapy.
As Audit lead for the Oncology department at Queen Alexandra Hospital Portsmouth I have transformed the audit portfolio with multiple prospective audits, improving the quality of care provided.
