Availability at Spire Hartswood: Tuesday afternoons. Availability at Spire Wellesley Hospital, Southend: Wednesdays PM and alternate Fridays.
I have over 17 years of experience working in the field of dermatology, treating adults and children with a wide range of skin, hair and nail conditions. My special interest has been the management of skin cancer and pre-cancerous skin lesions, mole screening with dermoscopy and dermatological surgery. I offer allergy patch testing for the investigation of contact dermatitis, cryotherapy and botulinum toxin injection for the treatment of excessive armpit sweating. I am experienced in performing surgical removal of both benign and malignant skin lesions.
I completed my certification of dermatology specialist training in Newcastle upon Tyne, after having carried out clinical research and held posts in the dermatology units of two other leading teaching British hospitals - Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham and Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge. I was appointed to my first consultant post with Durham and Darlington Acute Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2005 and was designated lead clinician of the Specialist Skin Cancer MDT (multi-disciplinary team). In 2010 I moved to Essex and took up a consultant post with Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. During this time I was Deputy Lead of the South Essex Skin Cancer MDT and also on the Eastern Deanery Dermatology Specialist training committee.
I also welcome appropriate patients wishing to refer and pay for treatment themselves without the need for a GP's letter of referral. For more information regarding self-funding appointments please call.
