Professional profile

I graduated from the University of Southampton Medical School and went on to perform my MD thesis and specialist training in cardiology in North West London. This included three years of clinical research in the fields of cardiovascular imaging, ischaemic heart disease, hypertension and heart failure, followed by comprehensive training in both advanced echocardiography and percutaneous coronary intervention. I have been working as a Consultant Cardiologist for over 10 years, previously at Manchester Heart Centre and now at The Royal Brompton Hospital, London.

I have extensive expertise in stress and contrast echocardiography, trans-oesophageal echocardiography, 3-D echocardiography, coronary angiography and stent implantation. I continue to actively participate in clinical research and hold an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer position with Imperial College, London.

I have numerous publications on a broad range of cardiological conditions and a particular interest in coronary heart disease and valve disease. In recognition of my achievements, I have gained fellowships of the Royal College of Physicians, American College of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology.
