My medical training was at Cambridge University and Guy's Hospital Medical School. I see patients with all types of rheumatic disease and teach and supervise medical students and trainee doctors.
My areas of interest include back pain; rheumatoid arthritis and other types of inflammatory arthritis; osteoarthritis; polymyalgia rheumatica; temporal arteritis; neck pain; gout; vasculitis; connective tissue diseases eg SLE, scleroderma; Myositis; Adolescent rheumatology; Osteoporosis; Paget's disease; Ankylosing spondylitis.
I was an ARC funded Lecturer in Rheumatology at Guy's Hospital Medical School for 4 years prior to being appointed as a consultant rheumatologist in 1988. Since then I have developed and run the rheumatology service at St. Helier Hospital and ran a General (internal) Medicine firm until 2012.
