Some of the principal treatments carried out by Dr Melanie Smith at Spire include:
I was appointed Consultant Radiologist at St John's Hospital, Livingston, in 1994, where I was a general radiologist in a busy district general hospital.
In 1997 I was appointed consultant radiologist at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh. During my time there, I developed my interest in breast radiology in both screening and symptomatic breast imaging.
I have been a full-time breast radiologist for the past 11 years in one of the busiest breast units in the UK. For most of this time, I have practised at the Murrayfield Hospital, providing expert breast imaging; our services now also include MRI.
I am an active member of the Breast Group of the Royal College of Radiologists.
