I have been a consultant neurologist for over fifteen years. I have a wealth of experience diagnosis and treating general neurological symptoms and conditions. I manage common chronic neurological disorders including headache and migraine, cluster headache, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, peripheral nerve disorders such as peripheral neuropathy and stroke.
I help manage patients with chronic disorders in close partnership with specialist nurses in multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease. I have helped establish and fund a specialist rehabilitation service at Burrswood Hospital for patients with multiple sclerosis, which has won a national award.
I accept referrals for all general neurological symptoms and disorders. My work involves diagnosis and treatment of these conditions and subsequent management of chronic neurological diseases such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, migraine and headache disorders, facial pain and neuralgia, peripheral neuropathies and other less common neurological disorders. I am also qualified to administer Botox for chronic migraine.
I obtained a degree in Chemistry at Oxford University which included a pharmacological research project. I then qualified in Medicine having trained at St Thomas' Hospital, London. I undertook specialist neurology training at a number of hospitals in London including a senior registrar post at The National Hospital for Neurology & Neurosurgery, Queen Square. I was then appointed Consultant Neurologist at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in 2000. I am also an Honorary Consultant Neurologist at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, London.
Peripheral nerve disease
I have a particular interest in headache and migraine. I am also very interested in multiple sclerosis and have helped establish an award winning physiotherapy service for MS patients at a local hospital.
