Virtual consultations:

Following my undergraduate training in Cardiff I initially completed a year of adult respiratory/cardiovascular SHO education before commencing my paediatric postgraduate experience. My paediatric tuition took me to New Zealand and a variety of hospitals in South Wales, before finishing as the Lecturer in Child Health prior to my consultant post at Llandough and the Children’s Hospital for Wales.

My research has been predominantly into allergic diseases, nutrition and patient safety issues. I lead the multidisciplinary children’s allergy service here in Cardiff and have developed the South Wales and West Paediatric allergy forum. My clinical experience is with children of all ages and especially those with allergic disease. In particular I have cared for numerous children and infants with eczema and food allergy. Such children often need long term follow up care to guide families as their conditions evolve.

Throughout my career I have been committed to teaching and was honoured in 2009 to receive the "Excellence in Teaching Award" from Cardiff University after nominations by medical students. My dedication to patient safety is exemplified by my tutorial; teaching and assessing doctors’ prescribing ability. This has demonstrated improvement in their ability following its inception a decade ago.
