If you suffer from aching legs or are unhappy about the appearance of varicose veins then you are not alone. Up to 40% of women and 25% of men will be affected at some time in their life. Contributing factors include pregnancy, sedentary professions, obesity and age. Spire Yale Hospital and the Abergele Consulting Rooms now offer a minimally invasive procedure (EVLT) to treat varicose veins.
What is EVLT?
Endovenous laser therapy is a quick, minimally invasive procedure
Endovenous laser therapy is a quick, minimally invasive procedure, which closes the varicose vein with no scarring. At Spire Yale Hospital in Wales and the Abergele Consulting Rooms this procedure is performed under local anaesthetic in our minor treatment room. EVLT takes less than 60 minutes and patients can return home as soon as the procedure is finished. Normal activities can be resumed immediately and most patients are back to work within a day or two.
Clinical staff
At Spire Yale Hospital and the Abergele Consulting Rooms the EVLT procedure is carried out by a consultant vascular surgeon, assisted by experienced and committed nurses.
