Mr Robert Hardy graduated from Birmingham University Medical School in 1994 and undertook his basic surgical training in Birmingham, Bristol and London. In 2002 Mr Hardy was appointed Lecturer in Surgery at Edinburgh University.
Mr Hardy has published numerous scientific papers and written a number of book chapters relating to surgery. He obtained his PhD in 2003.
In 2008 Mr Hardy was appointed as a consultant surgeon with specialist interests in endocrine and breast surgery at University Hospital Aintree NHS trust. He treats patients with adrenal, parathyroid and thyroid problems requiring surgery from across northwest England and beyond, and specialises in minimal access surgery for these conditions.
Mr Hardy also performs both cosmetic breast surgery and breast cancer surgery, in addition to general surgical procedures (hernia repair, removing skin lumps and cholecystectomy).
