Appointed as a consultant in 2001, initially at St. Helens & Knowsley Hospitals, before moving moved to Wirral University Teaching Hospital in 2004.

I am the Clinical Lead for Respiratory Medicine at Wirral University Teaching Hospital and have trained extensively in respiratory disease and general medicine. My daily practice includes dealing with asthma, COPD, Lung Cancer, asbestos-related lung diseases, chronic cough, pneumonia, pleural disease, bronchiectasis, sarcoid and fibrotic lung diseases. I perform fibreoptic bronchoscopy regularly.
I co-chair the Wirral Respiratory Modernisation group and attend multi-disciplinary team meetings in lung cancer, TB, severe asthma and interstitial lung disease. I am extensively involved in junior doctor training and have organised the North West Thoracic Society Meeting since 2006.
I act as an expert witness in asbestos related lung problems and associated conditions.
