Dr Stephen Rex trained in London and qualified as a doctor in 1994. After further specialist training, he was appointed as an NHS Consultant Cardiologist in 1994 in East Berkshire and South Bucks Since then he has been central to the development of local advanced cardiac services including interventional cardiology (angioplasty/ stenting) and the implantation of complex pacemaker and defibrillator devices.
In 2005, Dr Rex co-founded Windsor Cardiology LLP with his colleague Dr Khalid Barakat.
Windsor Cardiology provides a comprehensive private service and its philosophy is focused on delivering excellent standards of local care to the population of Bucks, Berks and Surrey. This minimises the need for patients to travel long distances for investigations and procedures and offers a “one-stop” service to assess and treat the full range of cardiac conditions. Windsor Cardiology advises on the prevention of cardiac disease and undertakes pre-operative assessments and cardiac reviews for other medical needs.
Consultations and procedures are arranged for symptoms which might be indicative of an underlying heart condition, such as chest pain; palpitations; dizziness and fainting; heart murmurs and heart valve problems; high blood pressure (hypertension); breathlessness and suspected heart failure.
Windsor Cardiology is a recognised provider by all of the major medical insurance companies for assessment and treatment and Dr Rex is a member of the Bupa Consultant Partnership scheme.
